Lucart sponsor of Keep Clean and Run, the longest plogging in the world
Lucart will sponsor the eighth edition of Keep Clean and Run for Peace (KCR), the plogging eco-marathon that has been crossing Italy since 2015 to raise people's awareness of littering in public spaces.
Over the years, creator Roberto Cavallo and his co-runners have delivered a powerful message of sustainability and attention to the environment, inspiring clean-up operations in all of the Municipalities the event has passed through. Over the last seven editions, Keep Clean and Run has crossed the whole of Italy and beyond, collecting and telling people about the litter found along the way. This has made it possible, in 2020, to incorporate the topic of peace in the environmental message, more topical than ever in recent days.
“The values connected with recycling, good practices, informed life styles and peace have always been engrained in our Group’s DNA. And so it was a natural step for Lucart to sign up to Roberto Cavallo’s Keep Clean and Run initiative. This year, in addition, the route will pass in front of our headquarters in Porcarci, along the old via Francigena: it will also be a fantastic opportunity to involve our people, getting them to run for peace in a cleaner world” - said Tommaso De Luca, Corporate Communication Manager of Lucart.
This year, the sea will be the main focal point of the route of Keep Clean and Run for Peace 2022. In fact, all the rubbish we throw away ends up in the sea, carried by the rain, the wind and rivers, and constitutes the marine littering that Roberto Cavallo will talk about along the route. The best way to prevent this type of pollution is to collect the rubbish already found on dry land, raising people’s awareness of the issue in order to avoid future littering.
Hence, kicking off on 29 April on the Island of Elba, the Keep Clean and Run for Peace 22 course will traverse seven stages, crossing Tuscany and finishing in Sardinia for the first time.
