Lucart obtains SBTi validation for its emission reduction targets
Lucart has taken a significant step forward in the fight against climate change by obtaining official emission reduction target validation from the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi). The award confirms that the company's strategy aligns with the actions required to keep global warming within 1.5 °C, as set out in the Paris Agreement.
The targets of the decarbonisation plan presented by the Group in 2024 address all business activities and the entire value chain. By 2035, Lucart aims to reduce overall Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 67.8% and fuel and energy-related Scope 3 emissions by 40% compared to 2019. Supply chain partners play a crucial role. Over 94% of the listed suppliers are required to adopt science-based targets by 2030.
The strategy is founded on the best available scientific evidence, integrating technological innovation, investments and a responsible approach to natural, social and economic capital management. As part of this process, Lucart has also certified its overall GHG emissions inventory at Group level according to the international standard ISO 14064, which guarantees carbon footprint measurement transparency, verifiability and consistency.
The SBTi award is part of a broader framework of the Group's actions and achievements, such as the Platinum medal from EcoVadis, which, for the fourth consecutive year, places the Group among the top 1% of companies worldwide in terms of sustainability performance.
