Lucart strengthens its presence in France with the new PM15 at Laval-sur-Vologne
On the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the acquisition of the Laval-sur-Vologne mill, Lucart is taking a further step in its growth journey in France with the installation of PM15, the new tissue machine supplied by Toscotec. This investment will increase the site’s total production capacity to 75,000 tonnes of tissue paper and contribute to the Group’s objective of reaching 400,000 tonnes of annual production by the end of 2027.
The new machine also introduces important solutions to improve the energy efficiency of the production process. The drying hoods will be equipped with electric heating systems and gas burners, with the possibility of operating on up to 100% electricity, while the Yankee dryer will be supplied with steam generated by a new electric steam boiler. The electrification of the thermal process will help reduce direct emissions associated with the operation of the line and support the mill’s decarbonisation pathway.
The installation of PM15 is part of the broader development of Lucart’s French operations. Since 2008, Laval-sur-Vologne has grown into a strategic site for the Group, employing around 350 people and with a production capacity increasingly focused on serving European markets. Since 2024, the production site has been complemented by the Saint-Dié-des-Vosges logistics centre, dedicated to distributing finished products across France, Germany, the Benelux countries and Northern Europe.
With this new investment, Lucart is strengthening an industrial hub in France that integrates manufacturing, innovation and logistics, with the aim of supporting the Group’s growth in Europe through increasingly efficient and lower-carbon technologies.
